Book Tour: The Suicide Princess by Anthony Bryan, Spotlight, Excerpt

THE SUICIDE PRINCESS

"Not your mother's romance, this is an erotic thriller that will leave you breathless and have you begging for more..."

Stephanie Bradford is a young, attractive, and successful District Attorney on her way to the top. She has the near-perfect life, with an amazing husband, and she has it all in the palm of her hand. When her marriage falls into a romantic rut, Stephanie is skillfully swooned by a charming, mysterious and intriguing stranger who looks to be the answer to all of her fantasies. A whirlwind and erotic affair quickly spirals out of control, and before long, she learns that things aren’t always as they appear and people are rarely who they seem. One poor decision becomes the catalyst for a series of events that rips her life apart, and Stephanie is left with nothing but the thirst for revenge against the man who viciously stole everything from her. The Suicide Princess is a sexually charged roller coaster ride where nothing is as it seems and everything is at stake!

Derrick leaned forward, inviting Stephanie to climb onto the back of his bike, and he said, "Let's roll, bad girl."
Stephanie climbed on, and she wrapped her arms around Derrick's waist as he started the engine and brought the thunderous exhaust to life.
"Oh my God, that's loud," Stephanie yelled into Derrick's ear.
"You just hang on," Derrick said before suddenly driving through the parking lot and to the main road.
Derrick drove to the highway where he immediately drifted to the left lane and rapidly accelerated the bike to well over ninety miles per hour. Stephanie let out a thrilled scream as they blew past the slower cars. Stephanie yelled, "Where are we going?" but Derrick only replied by revving the motor and driving even faster.
Derrick drove about forty-five minutes west of Boston, and he exited the highway to a secondary country road. The back road rolled through gentle hills and curves, and the forest on either side of the pavement had grown so tall, a canopy of trees completely covered them. Derrick slowed his speed down, as this wasn't a thrill ride, this was something different. This was an experience to be taken in slowly and not rushed.

Stephanie's arms wrapped tighter around Derrick's waist, and her hands rubbed against his abdomen and chest as she pressed the side of her face against his back. Stephanie closed her eyes as she felt the breeze blowing over her face, and the mixed smell of Derrick's natural odor and the fresh forest air was the most intoxicating aroma she had ever sensed.
As the afternoon was wearing on, the sky began to darken from the clouds rolling in. The air became heavy with the smell of rain as the first sprinkle appeared. Derrick pulled off to the side of the road as the rain grew steadier.
As Derrick turned off the engine, Stephanie asked, "Why are you stopping? It's raining."
"The road's going to be slick. I'm cool with risking it by myself, but not with you."
"But Derrick, we're in the middle of the woods, and it's pouring!"
Derrick got off the motorcycle, and he lifted Stephanie to help her down. "It's okay," he replied. "Follow me."

Derrick took Stephanie by the hand and he ran, pulling her behind him. He found a large tree which was filled with branches and leaves, and he led Stephanie under it.
"It's not the best, but it'll do. It won't rain long," Derrick said.
"It won't be long?" Stephanie asked. "Then I don't want to waste it."
Her long brown hair was dripping, with rain falling down her face to her lips. Derrick's hand grabbed the back of her neck, and pulled her in to kiss her deeply. Derrick stepped forward into Stephanie, causing her to step back until she was pressed against the tree. Derrick's drenched shirt was clinging to his body, and it stuck to him as Stephanie began pulling it off. Derrick pulled Stephanie in close as he was kissing her, and each press of his lips against hers felt like her very first kiss all over again.
Derrick's hands began unbuttoning Stephanie's tiny shorts, and once undone, she couldn't get them off fast enough. As the rain fell on them, Derrick lifted Stephanie off of the ground. She wrapped her legs around him, and with her back pressed against the tree, he made passionate love to her. Stephanie was overcome with emotion since this was so different from her other experiences with Derrick. This was the kind of powerful, connecting, and loving sex Stephanie had always dreamed of having. I love this man, she thought to herself but didn't dare have the courage to say out loud.

As the passing rain began to let up, Derrick stopped making love to Stephanie. He kissed her gently and she asked, "You didn't cum. Do you want me to finish you another way?"
Derrick kissed Stephanie and replied, "You didn't either."
"This time, it wasn't about cumming for me," Stephanie replied.
Derrick softly said, "It wasn't for me either."

Born and raised in London, UK, Anthony's hope, more than anything, is that his words can provide an escape for you, and he hopes they take you on a journey you won't soon forget. His goal is to give you something different, refreshing and unlike anything you've ever read. In a sea of authors pumping out the same cookie-cutter stories, Anthony can only try to be the one who stands out and takes you on one hell of a ride. Find your favourite reading spot, pour yourself a drink (or two) and love every second of every page he writes...After all, he writes them for you!

At 27 years old, Anthony now resides in the U.S. where he divides his time between Boston, Massachusetts and Sarasota, Florida. He served with the American military in eastern Afghanistan, and he is a combat veteran as well as an accomplished fighter training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing. He has more tattoos than his mother would have liked, and he may not seem like the typical erotic writer - because he's not. He's different, and his work is different, so get ready to be blown away.

Throughout his entire life, even as a young child, reading has always been Anthony's escape from reality. It was a way to temporarily leave the boring monotony of day-to-day life, and it allowed him to visit far off lands, meet unusual characters, take incredible adventures, and even learn about the very edges of our universe. Being able to take his love of reading and transform it to a passion for writing has been the greatest gift he has ever been given.

WHAT DOES D.D. CHANT WANT US TO KNOW ABOUT HER?

The rules are simple. There are 20 questions but you only have to answer 10-15:

As a writer, what drives you?
Having an idea, maybe just a single scene and watching it develop into a full length novel.
Can you tell us about Broken City series?
Broken City is set after an apocalypse has brought the world as we know it to an end. The story is told primarily by Deeta, the heroine, who has spent her whole life sheltering from the dangers of the outside world in the building she was born in.  As the story progresses you find out what caused the world to fall apart and Deeta is forced to face the dangers out in the City.
Happy Ever After or Happy For Now? Why?
I’m definitely a happy ever after girl! Yes there will be difficulties, there will be hard times, but coming through the other side only makes you stronger!
How much of yourself is hidden in the characters in your books?
Obviously I have ALL the good qualities of the characters in my stories!!! ;-P
Describe yourself in five words…
Determined.
Fun.
Affectionate.
Easygoing.
Loyal.
(In your humble opinion) best and worst book to movie adaptations…
The Best:  Pride and Prejudice (BBC adaptation with Colin Firth!)
The Worst: Cat Woman (Halle Berry) I know that technically this is a comic, but it was just soooo bad that it was the first thing I thought of, so I’m going with it!!!
Do you have specific techniques you use to develop the plot and stay on track?
Not really. I want my characters to drive the plot forward, so it’s important that I have a defined idea of who they are when I start. Normally I pick one word to describe them, the one thing about them that colours their entire character, and I start building from there.
If you were a character in your book you would be…
I think my closest affinity is with Astra from Fracture (The Chronicles of Discord, #1). She is warm hearted, loyal and fiercely protective of her family and those she loves. At the same time she is mistrustful and suspicious of everyone else, but she keeps a cool head. She hates conflict, but if you mess with her she will fight back.
When were you first published? How were you discovered?
I self published. I love the control it gives me over my own work, and how close it brings me to readers. There is no better feeling than receiving an email from someone who has read your work, telling you how much they enjoyed it!
Overrated/underrated movie?
Overrated: Titanic.
Underrated: Galaxy Quest (One of the funniest films I’ve ever watched!!!)
Time for favourite: song, color, book, TV series, movie, food, drink…
Song: at the moment it’s Now or Never by Seven Cities. I just LOVE that song!!!
Colour: Red
Book: Cotillion (Georgette Heyer)
TV Series: Sherlock (With Cucumberpatch!!!)
Movie: Thor (Closely followed by Thor 2 ;-P)
Food: Brownies!!!
Drink: Coffee!!!
How (or when) do you decide that you are finished writing a story?
With a series it can be difficult because you want to answer some questions but leave others unanswered for the next book. I normally know about half way through a book how it’s going to end.
People are always asking me this so I’m paying it forward. Where does your inspiration come from?
It can come from a lot of different things. Broken City started with a dream. The Promise when I was singing Two Little Boys to my baby cousin. Fracture began with a simple dilemma: if your family were strangers to you and your enemies had cared for you, who would command your loyalty???
What are you working on right now?
At the moment I’m editing the next book in my Lady Quill Chronicles series.
The good guy, the bad boy and the right guy…could they be one and the same?
I have no love for the ‘Bad Boy’ character in general. I do have a definite soft spot for a controversial guy, though.
If you could have a power or ability what would it be?
Telekinesis every time!!!
The old adage “Write about what you know”
Well this may surprise you but I haven’t recently survived an apocalypse, fought Saxon wars, or tried to take down a despotic dictator…
However…
I think that ‘write what you know’ mostly applies to feelings: what would a normal person do when in this situation? It doesn’t matter what the situation is, if your book is set after an apocalypse then the question is: what would be your first concern? What difficulties would you face? What would the most important thing be to you? And so on. That is the ‘real’ part of a story, not the plot, but how the characters act. A good example (and a scenario that drives me nutty when I come across it in books!!!) is when the hero and heroine are running away from danger, and all the heroine can think about is how hot the hero is, or the fact that he’s holding her hand!
Puuulease!!!
No woman in her right mind would be thinking about the hero’s muscles in that situation, however buff he might be!!! She’d be scared out of her life, wondering how long they could stay alive while on the run. In the back of her mind she might be wondering where she’s gonna get a fresh set of clothes if they live through the day.
How do you develop and differentiate your characters?
I like to take one characteristic that defines them and influences everything else about them.
For Deeta it was her naivety, it makes her a very trusting, very kind person.
For Tom it was dependability, it makes him very protective and he has a strong sense of duty.
For Jan it was her sassy cleverness, it means that she’s always one step ahead and prepared for whatever comes her way.

For Ryder it was his sardonic nature, it makes him mistrustful and scornful, even a little underhanded.

Hi everyone! My name is Dee Dee, I’m twenty six and I live in a beautiful part of Devon, England with my family. I have a younger sister, Amy who is a brilliant guitar player, some chickens, duck, geese, pheasants, a cat (that adopted us when we moved in!!!) and some Koi. Broken City is actually my second novel. My first, as my Aunt so delicately put it, was crazy. In my defence I was only sixteen when I wrote it. On the plus side I learnt a lot (or so I hope) and two years later ‘Broken City’ was finished. Due to the support I have received from readers I have just finished the next book in the Broken City series, Broken Truce! I have another book, ‘The Promise’, which is set in Saxon England is the beginning of a series. I’ve just begun to edit the next book and I’m really looking forward to releasing it. My third series is called The Chronicles of Discord. The first book, 'Fracture', is set in the distant future and tells the story of Astra, a young woman with a very big secret. I have just finished the second book in the series and it’s currently awaiting editing. I really hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them. I love reading and have a kindle: I read almost anything with adventure and romance in it! I also like to cook and wear impractical high heels!!! And as you might have noticed I have a horrible addiction to exclamation marks!!!

Leave your mundane cares behind, sit in your favorite chair and be prepared to travel the road of love, loss and no return. Travel down roads most women would never dare. Delve into the lost and found of life’s trials and tribulations by “Going Nowhere Fast.”

I turned away, bag in one hand, my purse in the other. Two hundred dollars in my pocket and no idea where I was going next. I just knew I had to get away. Phoenix was no option. I never looked back, never heard the truck start, never heard his voice again.
I walked out of the parking lot, down the street and down the entrance ramp to the interstate. It only took a few minutes with my thumb out for a big rig to stop. I ran up to the truck, opened the passenger door, swinging up into the cab.
“Where you headed little lady?” Drawled the driver.
“The question is where are you going?”
“I’m headed to Salt Lake.”
“Well, if you don’t mind some company I sure could use a ride.”
“If I had minded the company I wouldn’t have stopped.” He drawled again only this time with a wide toothy smile.
I threw my bag up in the sleeper, stowing my purse at my feet. I stuck my hand in my jacket pocket and felt the money. My eyes started to fill with tears.
“You OK there?”
“Yep, I’m OK. Just something in my eye.”
“Something like a broken heart?”
“You might say that.”

Blog Tour: Evil of Love by N.L. Echeverria spotlight and giveaway

Warning: This book is for mature audience only due to sex, language and violence.

“I can’t take it! I’ve been craving you ever since I saw you the other day. I haven’t stopped thinking about you since you disappeared ten years ago! I need you Steph. I’m sorry…” -Eric Sutherland

Stephanie Wilcox never saw it coming after giving up that life ten years ago of constantly being verbally and emotionally abused by her drunken father. She didn’t run, but when she left, she never looked back. Forced by her abusive father to live with her Aunt Elizabeth, she had to leave behind the one person that had shown her true love. In her mind, Eric Sutherland, deserved so much more and being with her would only bring him down. She never stopped loving the sun-kissed boy who held her hand and touched her kindly.

It was years later when Stephanie met Travis Barnes, a young self-made billionaire who swooped in and helped mend some of her loneliness. However, after marrying Travis, he began to show who he really was and he was the type of man she was accustomed to, after growing up with an abusive father, and regardless of his flaws she still loves him. After all, why would she deserve any better?

Eric broke, his kindness, his pure heart, it all fell apart that day Stephanie left. He did all he could to reach her, but it was hopeless. All the sadness, anger, and sorrow built up inside him over time and no one could replace the love he had for Stephanie. Fighting has been his outlet and now as a well-known UFC undefeated fighter, his career is all he has, but no matter how hard he tries to forget her, he can’t.

Ten years later he comes face to face with those large brown eyes that belong to the one girl he’s always loved and everything changes. This time he won’t let her get away.

There are many versions of ME. I'm a wife of an amazingly supportive husband, a mother of three beautiful boys that inspire me every day, a friend, a dedicated worker always looking to succeed, an author with characters and stories always on my mind and then there is Me. The woman that loves to stay up late and sleep in, takes ten minutes every morning before the kids are up to sit and have a quiet cup of coffee. The woman that loves staying up late with a good book and getting lost in the words. Enjoying a glass of wine with dinner to wind down from my long days. A person who is still a girl at heart, loving to smile, laugh and have fun whenever the opportunity arises. My favorite place is still the beach because nothing is more peaceful then listening to the sounds of the ocean against the shore. This is all a part of who I am and I LOVE being me!

blog Tour: Always and Forever Love by Lynn Crandall, excerpt, spotlight, giveaway

Always and Forever Love
By Lynn Crandall
Release date Dec 16th, 2013

Blurb
The presence of a ghost in her life doesn't alarm Lacy Aegar, in fact it makes her happy. Two and a half years ago when her dead husband Nicholas reappeared in her life as a full-bodied spirit, she questioned her sanity. But with Nicholas' explanation that there are things about life that are not as she's always believed, she settled into a pleasant routine of working with her sister at their private investigation business and enjoying home life with her now 10-year-old son – with Nicholas never very far away.
Lacey's complacency and sense of stability is sent topsy-turvy when she runs into Jackson Carter, the son of powerful and influential business tycoon, William Carter. Typical of the Carter reputation, Jackson's slick new private investigating business is siphoning off clients from the Aegar sisters' business, creating financial difficulty. It's a recurring nightmare for Lacey, who has already seen damage done by the Carter family, and when she encounters Jackson, she wants nothing to do with him.
But things are not what they seem when it comes to Jackson Carter, either. Unbeknownst to Lacey and her sister, Jackson is fighting a battle to preserve his business, too, and his integrity. For him, it's a fight for his soul, and he enlists Lacey's help because of her unique investigative skills and open heart. When she uncovers a mole in his business, she also discovers that one of his clients' drug trials has been given the green light to go to the next phase based on falsified data. As they work together to save both their businesses, Jackson and Lacey not only face death, they must come to grips with their feelings about love and life.

 Excerpt
She couldn’t imagine what he wanted. He seemed completely composed, except for the indications that he wasn’t. She decided to dive in. “So, Jackson, what’s on your mind? Is this a meeting? Are you still going to offer me a job?”
He fumbled with his napkin, his eyes still downcast and his voice soft. “To be honest, asking you to stay with me came out kind of spur-of-the-moment.” His gaze lifted, and he
continued, almost hesitantly. “I want you to know, Lacey, that though I don’t like your opinion of me, I understand. But unlike you, I have been thinking about you.”
Parts of her drew down to complete absorption with the moment between them. It was mesmerizing to listen to his words and feel his sincere need to convey the right message. She didn’t speak, feeling if she did, something inside him would break.
Which was silly. Jackson Carter was anything but fragile. Or so she believed. The idea that she believed she knew him from his father’s works made her shoulders tighten. His gaze flicked around the room, but landed back on her face.
“I’m not going to bore you with details about my past and my family. I think what I want you to know is that I am not my father. I have things to amend for, if only because of my blindness. But the truth is, I woke up about four years ago. I chose another path, and I did it simply because I didn’t belong on the path I was on. It didn’t fit. My father is a liar and a cruel person. There’s only so far I could go with him before I had to say enough is enough.”
Lacey felt like there was no one else in the room. His words carried weight and she knew the moment was sacred. He bared his soul, with no expectation of anything but the hope of understanding. She had to ask. “Why are you telling me this?”
He chuckled. “Good question. Nothing like laying it all out there when we hardly know each other.”
She let the moment hang, waiting for a sincere answer, not knowing if he had it in him.
There is a lot of regret in me. I feel the weight of my legacy. My values have not so much changed, as I’ve come to grips with reality. That’s a hard truth that not many people can appreciate.” He sipped his coffee and again shifted his gaze around the room, but she knew he didn’t see it. “You see things. You see things people miss. I just want you to know that I know much goes before me. It sounds clichéd, but I am different. Maybe you can see that and give me a second chance.”
It was easy to pick up that he carried deep feelings, some of them tender and painful. Lacey understood how devastating—as well as completely life changing—awareness of awful truths could be. Still, she knew firsthand of the shattering that could occur at the hands of the Carter family. She couldn’t forget that.
“Speechless, huh?” He tried to shrug off the intensity of his admission, dipping his head and suddenly busying with the saltshaker. “What do you say to something like that? I’m sorry I put you in that position.”
